On Tuesday, November 14, 2023, the University of Algiers 3 organized a “Student Marhaba Day” welcoming event in honor of international students coming to study at the University of Algiers 3 from various friendly countries. This reception, which was attended by university executives including vice-rectors, deans, the director of the institute and their deputies, embodies the reform strategy of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research which instituted November 14 of each year as a welcoming day for international students.
The reception was supervised by Dr. Zakaria Hocine, Vice-Rector in charge of External Relations, who gave a welcome speech on behalf of the Rector, Professor Khaled Rouaski, in which he pointed out the importance of this meeting as a new tradition in the Algerian university aimed at providing explanations about student life to international students and listening to their concerns throughout their course of study.
The Vice-Rector added that the university’s doors are open to all students to meet their requests and support them, inviting them to get involved and participate in the various cultural, sports and scientific activities organized by the university, and to get closer to student support structures to benefit from their services.
During the meeting, brochures, a student guide and the university’s internal regulations defining the relationship between the student and the university were distributed to students. In addition, all questions and concerns raised were answered.
It should be noted that the total number of international students at the university stands at 813, at different levels and from various nationalities. The university seeks to attract the largest possible number of international students to strengthen its status at the regional and international levels.
