The activities of the 2nd International conference on Soft Power Diplomacy through International Groupings were launched today, Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at the Hugo Chavez auditorium of the Faculty of Political Science and International Relations and organized by the Research Laboratory on Foreign Policy Strategy and its Geopolitical Environment, in the presence of a large number of professors and students.
The forum activities began with the reading of verses from the Holy Quran and a moment of contemplation in memory of the martyrs of Gaza, followed by listening to the national anthem.
In his welcoming speech, the director of the laboratory, Professor Amar Masbah, emphasized the importance of the conference, its panels and workshops, as well as the objectives of its organization. He considered that the theme of the conference comes to accompany the developments taking place on the international scene.
For his part, the Rector of the University, Professor Khaled Rouaski, in his opening speech read on his behalf by the media advisor to the university, Dr. Lazhar Marouk, stated that the world is experiencing rapid transformations and that the new international groupings have become influential international actors on international policies and decisions. These groupings now use soft power diplomacy as a tool to achieve their interests and strengthen their position.
The Rector added that Algeria has all the attributes of power to establish a win-win partnership with the new international groupings, in order to serve its interests and strengthen its regional and international position. He welcomed the scientific momentum that the university has been experiencing recently to keep up with the ambitions it seeks to achieve by promoting scientific research, improving its ranking at the national and international levels, and implementing the comprehensive reform strategy of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Kamel Beddari.
For his part, the Dean of the Faculty of Political Science and International Relations, Professor Slimane Aradj, welcomed the important developments taking place at the university, which serve and promote scientific research.
It should be noted that the first day of the conference experienced intensive activities of sessions, workshops and communications from national and international universities, rigorous organization and high participation of professors and students.
