The President of the University of Algiers 3, Professor Khaled Rouaski, chaired today, Wednesday, October 18, 2023, the activities commemorating Breast Cancer Awareness Day at the annex of the Faculty of Economics of Ben Aknoun.
The activities of Breast Cancer Awareness Day began with the president visiting the exhibition of posters and photos from the awareness campaign as well as listening to doctors’ advice. The university president stressed the importance of raising awareness among female students at the University of Algiers 3 about the need for early detection and regular screening to prevent this serious disease. He commended such awareness days that help spread a culture of prevention, congratulating the medical team for their efforts in this area.
He proposed that October be a month of awareness of the dangers of this disease and prevention across the various faculties and institutes. He stressed on the other hand that student health is one of the top priorities of the university administration.
This awareness day attracted a large number of female students. The medical team provided extensive medical guidance on methods of diagnosing and preventing breast cancer. This day was greatly appreciated by the students.
As part of his participation in commemorating World Breast Cancer Day, Mr. Khaled Rouaski inspected the medical center at the annex of the Faculty of Economics, to examine the center’s facilities and equipment with various medical means as well as the services it provides.
It should be noted that the World Health Organization declared October 19 of each year as a day to raise awareness of the risks of breast cancer.
